THE ICEBERG COMETH - A
Portrait of Blended Families in America
With the statistical direction in place that by 2008 the most common
form of family will be step-families / blended families, America
has a quiet trend that holds 'iceberg theory' like
issues. An iceberg only shows 1/8 of it's mass floating
visibly above the water line. A full 7/8 lies underneath,
unseen, unnoticed, yet holding the true massive
power of it's damaging abilities. There are too many
"Titanic Families" cruising in America... those step-families
headed for trouble, and often too proud to ask for help. There
are too many "Titanic Churches" in denial of a large portion
of their congregation, i.e. families that are not the
'traditional' nuclear family. Those blended families
that sit quietly, unnoticed, and truly not growing in their
faith, or often fearful to 'get involved' in the church because
they don't feel they fully belong in the mainstream church
activities. They too seek to be
embraced. Encouragement is needed for these families. This message is perfect
for local, regional or national church denominational
meetings. HR Conferences and educational or
governmental associations will also benefit and glean valuable
insight from a secular version of this
talk.
Growing from a "Step-Parent" to a
"Walk-Parent"
A 'STEP' is a single action, then you
stop. A ''WALK' is a where we're going somewhere and
have
a destination.

A Blend
Family / STEP Family can learn to WALK TOGETHER. You
will WALK through an understanding of the SEASONS of
SUCCESS.
Dan and Rebecca will share a Godly message and vision
of how to encourage your family toward
a commitment to supporting one another through this
naturally challenging family journey
together. 'Step-Parent' to 'Walk-Parent' is 90 minutes of
bible-based, psychologically sound, and fabulously funny and
biblically sound wisdom that you will hear on this
night. Great insight and fun for churches or faith-based
groups.
What Do Our Children
See, Hear and Feel ?
A 75 minute workshop especially designed for
Youth Pastors, Faith-based school Educators & staff,
Women's conferences or women's group Bible Studies, this
interactive session supports those who work with children
who have a desire for special
understanding of situations that children of divorce
live through.
Based on research
and interviews with 'children of divorce' both current day, and adults who
once lived through the hurt and the challenges, this
session will add value to any professional or
para-professional group or individual. Armed with increased
understanding they can better formulate plans and understand
the journey to best serve the youth they work with.
Rebecca Snell, herself a child
of divorce, now a parent in it, brings the perspective of
having lived on both sides of the battlefield and shares a heart
warming, hope filled, deeply insightful faith-lived
message.

"Our Defining Moments" as
Men
Dan offers a very candid and transparent talk to 'men
only' about 'spiritual warfare',
the issue of temptation, the 'buddies'
we choose, stress in the workplace, gaining and losing
'power' attention to health, being a single Dad,
and finally how to lose or keep a
marriage.
Dan shares how our
daily 'defining moments' impact a man's thinking, and
how he has both failed, and now is victorious, by the
grace of God.
Having gone from a decade in public office, shaking
hands with four U.S. Presidents to the extreme opposite
experiences of loss of family, loss of job, loss of home,
and even public embarrassment, his insightful message brings
most men's groups and individuals to their own "defining
moment".
Single Mom's
Empathy
Having spent 3
years raising three children alone, with biological Dad out of
state, Rebecca holds wonderful insight and can genuinely relate to
the struggles, the pain, the challenges of scheduling, money,
public perception and the spiritual and emotional roller coaster
Single Mom's face. Foremost, Rebecca's message of hope and trust
in God is one that will move people, and bring for many to a
fresh beginning with God.
She often speaks alongside Cathy
Erickson of 'Step Up', a PeopleMatter Ministries organization
which has profoundly served Single Mom's for many
years.
